Breezy, a nice weather Android app!

Breezy, a nice weather Android app!

I was tired seeing ads in my weather app, and was trying to find some alernatives. And I got lucky enough to find a super alternative, which is completely open-source and free.

From the documentation: “Breezy Weather doesn’t collect any personal data.”

That’s something I’m really caring about - privacy - and you should probably too. There are too many weather apps taking advantage of retrieving your location for the sake of giving you the real time neighbourhood weather condition… But actually use it for advertising tuning.

You can choose from several weather sources

There is a huge list of sources you can choose from, depending on where you live. Some are local, some are global, but I was astonished seeing all my usual weather sources to be perfectly integrated, including for air quality, weather alerts, among other features.

And the reason it has so many sources is:

This is open-source

You can review the code, help fixing some bugs, improve the documentation, see the upcoming features, this is awesome!

Here is the GitHub repo

And beautiful graphics

The homepage is lit, there is a contextual animated, movement based animation. I love it.

Breezy Weather home screen

When scrolling down through the home page, you have the forcast for the next days, next hours, but besides that you have beautiful widgets depicting the current conditions.
